20.2.11

random scenario for the average teenage girl.

scenario:

it's saturday night, and your two best friends have ditched you for guys. everyone else you text doesn't reply. you've been home all day and you're sick of it. what do you do?

answer:

go see the eagle with your sister!

what an obvious answer. now tell me, by looking at the picture, do you see why i went?
another obvious answer. channing tatum's in it! doesn't get much better than that!
plus, the movie plot was really good. after the movie, my sister pointed out to me that it has been the first good movie we've seen in a long time that didn't have some kind of love story in it, not even in the background. how weird is that? and i guess it was a little bloody, but i didn't really notice. i loved how suspenseful it was. my only complaint with it was that channing tatum only took his shirt off in one of the scenes. i mean who has channing tatum star in a movie and doesn't make him take his shirt off at least six times in it? oh well, it was still an awesome show. and now i am done telling you about channing tatum. for now.

happy birthday kawob!!

i finally got to another thing on my live list... shove cake into someone's face for their birthday! i chose to shove cake into kaleb's face:) how nice of a girlfriend am i? i'm thinking pretty nice. at least i didn't shove the ice cream in his face too.. haha:)

background: today is kaleb's SIXTEENTH birthday. basically means we can officially go out on dates. cause we have enough money as teenagers that we can do that every weekend. right. it also means he can drive! that's a very good thing, now he can play with me longer without his mom having to worry about it! yay!

now back to the live list:
the pictures look horrible because we took them with his cell phone. so... yeah.

this is us before the cake:

this is me shoving the cake in his face:

doesn't that just look so fun? :)

1.2.11

influence.

i think i figured out why i hate cheer so much.
i think it's because all of my close friends think i do it for fun,
and that i don't love it.
thats not true. i feel the happiest when i land my tumbling by myself,
and know that most of the stupid boys at my school
that make fun, of me could never do what i do.

my friends never come to support me in any of it,
not even the competitions, which are really scary for me.
i feel like i need them to be there, to help me not be so scared.

they also talk bad about the other girls on my team.
it makes me unhappy, cause i love the girls on my team.
we've gone through a lot of hard things together.

all my friends do is tell me how hard their sport is.
do they think that what i do is easy?
cause it's not. its the hardest thing i've ever done.
and the reaction from every one in school makes it
about a million times harder.

its one thing to not like a sport,
but to exile them cause they're not the drill team?
cheerleading is nothing like drill,
so why do they compare us so much?

my friends have kinda made me stop liking it.
which has made me start noticing the bad things about it
which has led to my decision of not doing it next year.
which is kinda sad, because i was starting to get really good at it.
just goes to show, your friends really do influence you.

survival 101

i decided today that i would never be able to survive without my family. end of story.

actually, i'll tell you the story.

today i was driving the truck in centerville and i got a flat tire. i was parked in the dick's parking lot, and let me tell ya, it was freaking me out. i got my mom some groceries, and came out to the truck, to find a flat on the back tire. i went to get a closer look, and their was a nail stuck in it. my first thought was that someone was very rude to stick a nail in my tire. my second thought was that whoever did it was probably watching me, and knew that i was all alone. that led to thoughts of it's probably a creepy pedophile. he's gonna come smash my window and kidnap me. why are my doors not locked? why haven't i called my mom to ask her what to do yet?

at that point, i called my mom. once i got off the phone with her, i started looking around, to see if anyone was near me. i noticed four teenage boys standing close together, all of them whispering and staring at me. and that's when i decide it was them. after a little while of thinking they were gonna come harass me(they never did), i started suspecting the guy handling the carts. i suspected him because he didn't have a name tag on. can you see how that led me to believe he didn't work there? plus, he only came out of the store twice, and both times he only went to the cart holding place right next to my truck. coincidence? i thought not! i decide my mom should get here soon, i was running out of people to suspect. and sure enough, she came as i was thinking that.

when my mom and brother got there, all we did was pump up the tire, then jordan got in the truck with me to drive to the tire place. i was telling him about my suspects, and he disagreed. he said that the other day he noticed the tire was losing air, he just hadn't thought to pump it up, or that something was stuck in it. that kinda shattered my thoughts of a pedophile or a gang hitting up my truck, but that's fine with me. it means it wasn't my fault.

and that is why i'm not gonna survive without my family. i also really dislike vacuuming, so my apartment is gonna be horrible when i move out, and i'll have to learn to do that too.

23.1.11

something to make you laugh.

just a little something that makes me laugh.
i'm having a hard time with one of the things on my [live] list. for the life of me, i can't stop eating unhealthy. it's not possible, i'm THAT addicted. well it is, but i'd probably get extremely depressed.. and that's not gonna happen. so i'm hoping if i just work out more often, and at least attempt some vegetables every day, it'll start helping me.. and maybe i'll getta check that off my list. who knows, i may even start liking some vegetables.

20.1.11

interesting.

i've officially been to all my new classes, and all i have to say is, this semester is gonna be... interesting.

p.s. braves vs. cats: basketball. 7:00 tomorrow. i am very excited. the end.

14.1.11

i smell like shaving cream.

why don't they put the salt on the other side of the pringle? it would be much more enjoyable that way.

finding out one of your really close guy friends has had a crush on you for the last two months is really awkward. don't attempt it.

you should learn how to drive in the snow before actually doing it, or else you get stuck. and getting stuck is not fun.

i don't think i'd ever be able to work at a starbucks. not because of the coffee and the temptation in that way, but because i could never put the lid on tight. it takes me forever to put my own lid on, so if i had to do it for others, i'd probably be there for hours, hoping not to get hot liquid on me while trying to put a lid on.

rubber bands last longer when they are refrigerated. just thought you ought to know.

you never know when it will strike, but there comes a moment at school when you've made up your mind that you just aren't doing anything productive for the rest of the day.

why are they called 'stands' when they're made for sitting?

the letters T and G are very close to each other on a keyboard. this recently became all too apparent to me and consequently i will never be ending an email with the phrase 'Best Regards' again..

i getta watch a movie with someone attractive in it tonight. at least, thats what i'm in the mood for.

the post name is what my friend said to me today, inspiring this post.

9.1.11

copious thoughts.

-Since the new year began, I've gotten early church on Sundays. I guess someone thinks it's funny to just take away my only sleep-in day of the week. Which results in me not paying as much attention in church. But hey, I should be thinking about the good things that come from it. Like, I now have all Sunday afternoon to lay on my bed, warm slippers on, homework procrastinated even longer, on my pretty purple laptop reading funny blogs I didn't have time to read during the week. Great.

-If you overheard a boy say about you, "I want to go out with her because she has great cleavage and I can see part of her butt every day in her short shorts," would you be offended or flattered? With the way girls dress these days, even in the winter, I'm kinda thinking they'll be flattered.. All I can say is I hope no one thinks I'm like that. Wouldn't you rather have a guy like you for you're pretty face?

-I'm pretty much insanely jealous of my best friend's artistic skills. So I stole his latest picture and scanned it onto my computer. It took him fifteen hours, and all he really did to it was dot the paper. I could never do it as well as him.

-While I was scanning Kaleb's picture, I decided to finally scan my Hazen, so I might as well put that one up too.

-Every once in a while, you get something good out of having to read a book your teacher assigns. Wanna hear mine? I was reading To Kill a Mockingbird, and the little girl in the book has a problem with swearing. Scout is only in first grade. Her father gets mad at her for it one day, and she replies, "Well if you don't want me to grow up talking that way, why do you send me to school?" I thoroughly enjoyed it, for at least a little while. Then I was forced to read the rest of the book. and then think about it. I hate it when I have to think about stuff in an educational way. It makes it lame.

-A while ago, me and my mom were talking about people we love, and the "I'd die for the one I love" topic came up. We decided that its really dumb if they just die for you, because then they'd never have to live with you, and really experience your flaws and good qualities. By the end of this, we made up a new quote. "I know you would die for me, but you need to live for me too."

-Holidays are a time of giving right? Well today my sister gave me this:

pretty sweet, right? It was from the special christmas candy cane kisses pack. I like to call it Gerald. And now I'm gonna eat him. Goodbye, Gerald, and your crazy, party hair.

-I had another cheer competition yesterday.. We placed second, which is really good, since their were six other teams in our division. The only reason the other team beat us, is because their were four guys on the team and they threw a girl to the ceiling. And it was a very tall ceiling. But we qualified for Nationals in California, so I get a vacation during March to look forward to! and practice isn't gonna be so bad tomorrow, cause we did so well.

-Angry birds is another great way to spend an afternoon. just saying. same with fruit ninja.

-I was reading one of my favorite blogs the other day, and he stated how I'm feeling so perfectly, that I'm just gonna have to share it with you.

"Typing for the sake of typing is sort of comforting in a way because it makes you feel like you are being productive but in reality you are completely ignoring what you set out to do. There are a million different distractions that can catch my gaze and I give in to every single one of them. Focus is not something that I succeed at. There is always something more interesting going on around me that I want to witness. Why do something boring when something interesting is going on? Because if you don’t, then your grades get screwed up and you have to take remedial English come summertime . I might as well do the work now when its cold and rainy outside with not much else to do instead of when it is sunny and warm and the number of interesting things going on around you increase ten-fold. That’s what I tell myself, but I am a very unconvincing person."

With that happy thought, I'm gonna go procrastinate my biology homework doing something else.

2.1.11

the man your man could smell like.

the other day, my brother showed me this commercial, and i could not stop laughing. so i decided to share it.

i'm pretty sure everyone knows that i'm not very good with videos on my blog, so i'm just gonna post the link to it.

The Man Your Man Could Smell Like.

i had to watch it a few times to get it. so if you're slow like me, thats what i would suggest.

twenty eleven resolutions.

twenty eleven. that's gonna take some getting use to. i might as well tell you all my resolutions, even though you probably don't care what they are. i'm not as amazingly thoughtful as Maryn, so don't even expect if from me. i wish i was though, that girl is amazing at everything. they're pretty dull, but here they are.

1. eat better. it took me quite a while to figure out i am nowhere near having enough willpower to quite eating unhealthy foods, so my resolution is to eat healthy foods along with the unhealthy stuff. should be quite the experiment. it's also on my live list, so that means for sure i'll get it done.

2. run a marathon. me and my sister shelly wanted to do this last year, but unfortunately we never got around to it. it gives me something to work for, and it helps my healthy thing. win, win situation.

3. take more pictures. first off, i'm bed at remembering things. second, i feel like so much happened to me last year, but i hardly remember any of it because i don't have anything to remind me of it. my solution is pictures. and i love memories. even better.

4. finish my live list. being the nerd i sometimes pretend i am, i did some calculations. and if i wanna finish my live list by the end of my sophomore year, i'd need to do approximately 1.7 a week . so i'd better get goin' on that.

5. get a job. thats more current, cause i realize i kinda need one. it's probably not gonna be too fun, but it'll be a good new experience. also kinda scary. if the boss is anything like my cheer coach, i'm gonna be very scared.

6. re-do my room. i want it to be a place i love, that reminds everyone of me. my friends and siblings think i'm crazy, but i already drew a tree on my wall. it's totally random, but insanely cute at the same time, i'm excited to finish it.

7. get organized. i always think i am, but then i always end up misplacing something, then another, and another, until everything just becomes cluttered. and i can't stand clutter. it drives me insane. so this year i'm actually gonna organize everything instead of just put it places.

we'll see how much of this actually gets done.. happy new year!!

29.12.10

bad accents make great conversation starters

my tea party was a success. i spent all morning creating my own finger foods with aaron and shelly. i was also tired, which meant a few very.. creative ones. we had two rules:
1. you had to talk in an english accent.
2. you had to keep your pinky up while drinking your tea.
it made me really happy that everyone played along and had a good time.

19.12.10

day thirty: a letter to yourself. write everything you love about yourself.

dear morgan,

i like how committed i am to anything and everything. i love how i can always find a way to end up happy. i love how easy it is for others to make me happy. i love being happy, in general. i love being me.

love, morgan

18.12.10

day twenty-nine: soemthing you hope to change about yourself and why.

i'd really like to change my perspective on life. i'm always thinking, "i can't do this" or "this isn't fun." i really want to start thinking "i can totally do this" and "i don't care if others think this is lame, i'm gonna make it fun." i also wanna stop caring what others think of me, cause it just holds me back. i still care what my loved ones think of me though, if that makes any sense.

17.12.10

day twenty-eight: if you were prgnant or got someone pregnant, what would you do.

like sue put so simply, i would have a baby. and i would definitely would stay with my mommy, cause she is so good with kids.

16.12.10

day twenty-seven: what's the best thing going for you right now?

the best thing going for me right now is being so physically fit. it makes me feel very good. if only i could always feel this way. hmph.

15.12.10

day twenty six: have you ever thought about giving up on life?

I can honestly say I have never thought about giving up on life. I have said things like, "I just wanna sleep 'till the end of the world," or "why can't everything just go away?" that's all i ever thought about in that way.
