little blue book

a few years ago i came upon this little blue book. it has little rocks on the front, and a very simple pattern on it. on the very first page inside it, in my mom's handwriting was this quote:

"at best we should try to help others, and if we cannot help them, at least we should do them no harm." -Dalai Lama

i'm kind-of a quote-a-holic, and this is one of my favorites. i decided that i was gonna turn that little blue book into my inspiration journal. it is now my favorite thing to write in. it's where i wrote my conference and young woman's broadcast notes. i've written stories and scriptures, attached notes and thoughts of gratitude, so many countless things that made the book special unique. who knew that just a little blue book would be loved so much by a teenager?

its kinda my 'stay happy' book. whenever i'm sad, i'll look at this book. it helps me remember that this small point in time won't matter in my future, and i should make the most of my time by being uplifting and happy.

the book also has a few of my favorite movie quotes. i'm pretty sure my all-time favorite movie quote was said by joey in 'friends', "you don't own a tv? whats all your furniture pointed at?" he is so funny and ignorant, it just kills me :)

i even have a few pages dedicated to shakespeare, and the poem i memorized.

i have a few pages that are dedicated to certain people in my life, they have given me so much and i can never thank them enough :) their are only a few people who have do that, and i love them so very much.

my favorite part about this book is the recipe at the end. it's my favorite food in the entire world, and everytime i eat it i become very blissful and happy inside :)

i'm very happy that i stumbled on this little blue book a few years back, its become my prized possession :) just thought i'd share my piece of heaven with a few others :)

maren louise thueson

This post is dedicated to MAREN :) cause she's just so flippin' amazing!! I've known her since I was 3, and she is my longest friendship :) When we were little, we did everything together. I was so close with her, I even broke her leg! All those trips to delta were fantastic, all those sleepovers were CRAZY fun, and all the times in between were even better :) She is such an amazing little child, and forever will be a child to me :) she is such a great dancer, has an amazing family, and recently made cheer at millcreek :) Yay for my sisters! We grew up in love with the Lizzie McGuire movie, and Lizzie was always her name when we played house :) Nowadays, we have the best names for each other (mogo on the yogos and marebear) :) A few years ago she moved a few streets away, which made it hard to be so close, but I still love her with all my heart, and will always be their for her! Even if she just wants to borrow a book (which happens alot) haha :) I am so happy I met her, and just thinking back, I realize how much she has changed my life, for the better:) I love that girl to death!
Love, Mogo on the Yogos!
(p.s. mare, a few weeks ago you commented that you wanted a post dedicated to you, and this is it! hope you enjoyed it!)

Procrastinaters Unite... Tomorrow.

What a great way to sum up my life right about now. I have so many things I know I should do, but I don't do them. I'm so horrible. Right about now, I should be finishing my honors project essay, but I'm stumped, and have no idea how to write it. This will be my second essay of the week, and the third one must be complete by Friday. On the plus side, I got one finished! Yipee. Two more to go. I can do it! Haha I love cheering myself on.

I really don't cope well with the whole "stress thing". I just don't. I can do normal days, but not stressful ones. This week is just freaking me out even more, considering I'm trying out for cheer next week. What a wonderful way to start out week of Cheer.

Anyways, I probably should get on with my essays... But then again, blogging is so fun, I might stay on for another hour anyways. Who knows?

Change.

Springtime for me always means change. I absolutely love it! I love shaking up my life, it gives me a reason to live. I could never have my whole life where I did the exact same thing every day. I'd go crasy! So this year, I plan on doing the following:

1: Lightening my hair. I like it better lighter. Darker to me just seems do sad and boring. Not that I don't love dark hair, it just doesn't look good on me. Maybe I'll go red.

2: Painting my room. I was thinking of changing it entirely, and painting a mural of the Eiffel Tower. I'm in love with Paris. I really am. I'm going to live there someday.

3: Running a Marathon. I'm going to be running in the Top of Utah Marathon on September 8th, with my sister Shelly. That will make me more fit. Plus, I've always wanted to run a marathon.

4: Getting a job. So not looking forward to this one. I don't know where to get one, I just know I need money if I want to do Cheer next year, which leaves me with the money thing.

5: Changing my room around. I believe that you should look to your room for comfort and downtime, which is why I'm painting the Eiffel Tower on my wall. That will definitely calm me down when I need it.

6: Work on my Tennis skills. They've gotten pretty shabby since my brother went on his mission. He was pretty much the reason I played. I'm gonna have fun playing with him again when he gets home. (Which is in 35 days!!)

I love change, and goals, and they are my favorite way to start out the summer! Oh, and BUCKET LISTS :) :)

Cori Jeanette Harman

My baby sister is a cheerleader. How time flies. Seems like just yesterday I was laughing at her for being too sunburned on the dock at delta. But now she's a cheerleader. All growed up. Wow. My little baby. She worked so hard this week, and I am so proud of her! I'm just so happy!

Now I know what my mom means when she says that its ten times harded to watch someone you love tryout for something. Thinking that my baby sister wouldn't make it, even for a minute, scared me so bad!

Now onto the next thing... Bountiful Cheer Tryouts. And the "fun" begins... again... Yippee.
